The birth of

Starchild aka Sterrekind (Dutch) began as Poem written by my mother-in-law. When I first heard the Poem I was immediately drawn to it. My first thought was the Starlight Children’s Foundation in Australia. I had a desire to translate this poem into English and use the Poem on stationary, accessories and clothing with some of the proceeds going to the Starlight Children’s Foundation or another charity of choice.

I had always dreamt of having my own business and had experimented with a few things, but it was not until I had my second child that I decided to put my efforts into making Starchild a reality. So with the help of my husband and my mother-in-law we translated the Poem into English and sourced a new artwork for the Poem.

I decided that I would like to create a range of comfortable, cute and cool clothing for babies and kids. This has been my focus since 2010.

It has taken some time to get Starchild off the ground due to family and work commitments, but I am very excited about this new beginning and I hope that Starchild will bring happiness, fun, laughter and inspiration into the world.

What is a Starchild?

Starchild is your inner child;

Starchild empowers all children; whether they have a disability, are sick, disadvantaged or misunderstood; to make their dreams a reality.

A Starchild lets their dreams and desires flourish.

As a Starchild you are not afraid of what the world throws at you and you are confident within yourself.

As a Starchild an obstacle is a challenge not a limitation.
